Five former Western Michigan Bronco football players could be playing in the NFL this coming season. Two were drafted during the NFL Draft this past weekend, while three signed a free agents immediately following the draft.The highest draft pick from Western this season was offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor, selected in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers. He'll be joined in training camp by running back Jarvion Franklin, who signed as an undrafted free-agent.

According to MLive, Okorafor will compete for a starting position on the Steelers' offensive line, with Marcus Gilbert who missed over half the season last year with injuries and a suspension.

The Cincinnati Bengals chose cornerback Darius Phillips in the fifth round, one of two cornerbacks the Bengals chose in the 5th round.

After the draft concluded, three Broncos signed free-agent deals with teams on Saturday. Franklin with Pittsburgh, linebacker/safety Asantay Brown signed with the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles and Battle Creek's Donnie Ernsberger with Tampa Bay. Ernsberger capping off a season which saw him score a touchdown in one of the longest games in college football history, and the team being penalized when his sister ran out on the field to celebrate.
