This season the Detroit Tigers will honor champions of the past as they celebrate the anniversary of the 1968 Championship in September. 

According to M-Live,  the details have been announced on the events that will take place during the Tigers interleague series against the St. Louis Cardinals, September 7-9.

The team will be celebrated through out the current season as well as during the weekend in September.

The game on Saturday, September 8th will feature members of the championship team honored with an on the field ceremony before the game.  First 20,000 fans at the game will receive a 68' commemorative road jersey.

The last game of the series will feature a fan q&a with players from the 68' team on the concourse at Comerica Park before the game.  First 10,000 fans who are at the game will receive a 68' commemorative pennant.

The 68' championship isn't the only celebration the Tigers will be hosting this year.  They are also set to have ceremonies for new Baseball Hall of Fame players Alan Trammell and Jack Morris.

Both players from the 1984 championship team will each have their own ceremonies in August.   The Tigers greats will both be inducted into the Hall Of Fame in Cooperstown, New York on July 29th.
