A Meme Is Cause for Resignation but Not Shooting at Someone

Michigan State Police Col. Kriste Kibbey Etue shared a Meme on her personal Facebook page which stated:

Dear NFL: We will not support millionaire ingrates who hate America and disrespect our Armed Forces and Veterans. Who wins a football game has ZERO impact on our lives. Who fights for and defends our nation has every impact on our lives. We stand with the Heroes, not a bunch of rich, entitled, arrogant, ungrateful, anti-American, degenerates. Signed, We the people.

For that Mlive is reporting that the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus on Wednesday called for her resignation.  Apparently they believe that Meme is more outrageous then one of their own who physically assaulted his ex-wife and shot at her 2015 Mercedes-Benz multiple times with a rifle.

Sen. Vincent Gregory, D-Southfield, a former police officer himself and the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus's 1st vice chair was quoted in the article stating:

All police officers are held to a higher standard, when it comes to conduct. The director of the State Police is supposed to set that standard. Her posting speaks to how she feels about tax-paying citizens who are exercising their constitutional rights

Are the state of Michigan’s elected politicians from the Democratic Party not to be “held to a higher standard, when it comes to conduct”?

Do they not remember when Democrat State Senator Virgil Smith physically attacked his ex-wife and then shot at her car?

Let me remind them of a report in the Detroit Free Press on May 22, 2015 when it was reported that:

Both Democratic and Republican leaders in the Senate have urged Smith to resign since charges were issued. Members of the legislative Black Caucus have offered their support to Smith and said lawmakers shouldn't be in a hurry to remove the senator from the Legislature.

I find it very interesting that the Michigan Legislative Black Caucus will support a member of their own in a domestic violence and shooting case and not call for his resignation but they will call for the resignation of someone who shared a Meme concerning people’s disrespect of our National Anthem and the people who died for our country.
