If you wondered whether your neighbors signed up for the Ashley Madison accounts, they did.

Ashley Madison, a hookup site for married people, recently came into the spotlight when hackers cracked into the website's user database.

Well, now it's gotten even more personal.

The interactive map below from Tecnilogica shows how many people signed up for accounts — it also shows the gender breakdown of users across the globe. Locally, the numbers may appall you.

According to this map, Kalamazoo has 9,473 paid member accounts.

To put that in perspective, as of the 2010 Census, Kalamazoo had 29,141 households.  That would mean one person in a third of Kalamazoo households has or had a paid member account on this cheating website.

Other notable areas are Portage with 5,730, Holland with 5,453 and Battle Creek with 4,390 users.

How does the rest of Southwest Michigan shape up? Take a look at the breakdown below.

(Note: Mattawan only had 290 user accounts. As a current Mattawan resident, I'm guessing that the low number must be due to the terrible internet speed!)
