Authorities are attempting to track down a semi-truck that fatally struck a man on the shoulder and kept driving.

WWMT reports that around 2:40am Friday morning, three people were on the shoulder of Eastbound I-94 near exit 88 near Galesburg, filling a car’s gas tank. One man was struck by a passing semi-truck, and dragged for several hundred feet.

The man, identified as a 49-year-old Battle Creek man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man and a woman were not injured but are being treated for shock.

The road was shut down for several hours while police investigated. Authorities are attempting to track down a black semi-truck with a white trailer that possibly has minor front end damage.
