The Calhoun County Health Department and the Michigan Departments of Environmental Quality and Health and Human Services lifted the “Drinking Water Advisory” for the City of Battle Creek Saturday afternoon. After receiving test results from 52 water samples taken across the city, Battle Creek’s tap water is once again safe to drink for young and old alike.

All but four of the water samples tested at levels below the acceptable EPA health standard for manganese. The four elevated results were at wells at the city’s Verona Pumping Station, none of which directly feed the city’s water distribution system. The city will continue to work with the federal agencies on further testing.
