A photographer from Gaylord Michigan might have just taken a shot of a lifetime yesterday morning in Mackinac City Michigan.

Mlive reported on Dustin Dilworth’s beautiful photograph.  Dustin runs the Gaylord-based D3 Imagery, a company that offers photo and video services.

The shot featured in the two links above was a photograph that Dustin has been attempting to capture for quite a while.  He was quoted in the article stating:

I just feel very privileged…this photo is one that I've had in my mind. It's an elusive shot that I didn't know if I would ever get.

In fact he woke up at approximately 2 a.m. to attempt to get such a beautiful shot and his effort paid off.  He said that the aurora only lasted for a short period of time and then was quoted stating:

If I would have been five minutes later ...

He had photographed the blue ice in the straits but had not been able until now to photograph the Northern Lights and the blue ice against the back drop of the Mackinac Bridge.

Great shot Dustin and thanks for providing such beauty to all of us.

Happy hunting for the next spectacular photograph.
