Back in 2002 when former President Bill Clinton spotted the young mayor of Baltimore at a Democratic event he saw a star in the making. Clinton befriended the upstart back then and predicted Mayor Martin O’Malley “could go all the way.”

Fast forward and you see O’Malley preparing to join the race against Clinton’s wife, the former first lady and Secretary of State, in just a few days. I doubt Bill really wants Hillary to be President anyway. Can you imagine the really awkward photo ops when Bill is getting grabby with the waitresses in front of Madam President.

I said months ago that O’Malley was the Democrat most likely to become the 45th President of the United States. I stand by that claim. He will move in that direction when he announces his candidacy on May 30 in Baltimore. Of course I think O’Malley's path to the White House is more complicated now that his hometown burst into riots after the death of Freddie Gray.

Many of O’Malley's tough on crime policies that cut Baltimore crime dramatically are now being attacked by Mrs. Clinton and others in what is called an age of “mass incarceration.” O’Malley embraced the get tough on crime stance of former President Clinton and now the hoping to be the next President Clinton, Hillary is running against those policies as well. I wish I could be a fly on the wall at one of the many staged Bill and Hillary events. I really wonder what they actually say--I mean, really.

O’ Malley certainly complicates the Clinton campaign. You see Hillary will actually have to answer for a lot of things like Benghazi, secret emails, the Clinton Foundation cash and of course her odd notion of being an ‘ordinary American’ despite her and Bill earning $25 Million dollars in just the last 15 months.

So it is getting more interesting that is for sure. O’Malley will be joining Clinton and outspoken Communist Bernie Sanders in the left field run for the White House. There are still a couple others that might jump in including: Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren and former Virginia Senator Jim Webb.

I guess these coronations are a lot more complicated than I realized!
