The Zoo has undergone many changes and has grown significantly since being established 1975. This Sunday, August 9th, the Zoo will celebrate that 40th Anniversary from 11:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

A detailed schedule is at Binder Park Zoo's website.

The day’s events include a members only pancake breakfast starting at 8:30 a.m. (pre-registration required), special gifts for the first 1,000 people that enter the park, birthday cake at the Snow Leopard Yurt at 1 p.m., and 40th anniversary specials in the Zoo’s restaurants. Zoo goers can also sign a giant birthday card on the Snow Leopard Lawn! Activities will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with 40th Anniversary themed stage shows and keeper talks scheduled throughout the day.

“It's remarkable to consider what Binder Park Zoo is today, when compared to where we started as a small children's petting Zoo 40 years ago,” says Kari Parker, Binder Park Zoo Marketing Manager. “Today, the Zoo has seen millions of visitors and has been able to have a significant impact in nurturing empathy for wildlife. We’ve participated in saving endangered species and contributed to our local economy.”
