Not sure if it's fair to call it a part of Detroit's renaissance or simply pride, but here's another sign of it.

Just in time for this weekend's Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise, Michigan's own Bob Seger released a studio version this song to radio stations. He's been performing it in concert, and the timing of it couldn't be better.

The Woodward Avenue Dream Cruise in this weekend on, well, Woodward Ave. from Detroit all the way to Pontiac. It's a fun event where dads (and moms) relive the cars of their childhood and kids have a glimpse of seeing cars when they all didn't look the same.

You might want to get there early on Saturday, as parking is at a premium on the side streets through the suburbs that Woodward Ave. runs through.

I've done it twice, and while the sheer number of people is a bit overwhelming. It's still a lot of fun and make sure to have plenty of drive space on your phone or camera.
