Several media outlets are reporting that authorities have found a body along the Lake Michigan shoreline in Allegan County. MLive says that troopers from the Michigan State Police were called at around 8:00 Wednesday morning to a location north of South Haven. There are few details available at this time, but detectives have reportedly been on scene investigating the case and trying to find clues.

There's no indication about an identity of the body, but authorities say they do believe it appears that it had been there for quite sometime. There are no reports at this time of connections to any recent missing persons cases or people who have disappeared in Lake Michigan waters.

Even though this hasn't been confirmed as a drowning, 2018 has been a particularly bad year on the Great Lakes for people going missing in the water. According to the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project, there have been 110 drownings on all five lakes, the most by far since they started keeping statistics in 2010. In Lake Michigan alone, there have been 39 reported drownings this year.
