The Western Michigan Broncos return home Saturday for Homecoming to square off with the Eastern Michigan Eagles. It's the first leg for the Michigan MAC Trophy, who goes to the team with best record against each other among the three Mid-American Conference schools - Western, Eastern and Central Michigan Chippewas. The trophy currently resides in Mt. Pleasant.

The Broncos, after dropping their first two contests, picked up their third straight win and first in MAC play with a 40-39 victory over the Miami (OH) Redhawks. After trailing 27-14 at the half, the Broncos would get four touchdowns in the second half, including two of four connections between quarterback Jon Wassink and MAC West Offensive Player of the Week Jayden Reed, to lead the comeback.

During his weekly conference, head coach Tim Lester quickly recaps the Miami game and discusses the tough battle ahead with Eastern. Western held on for a 20-17 overtime victory over the Eagles in Ypsilanti last year on Eastern's homecoming.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles are looking to recover following their 2-0 start, including a 20-19 victory on the road at Purdue. They have dropped three straight, including two in overtime. The Eagles are coming off a triple-overtime thriller with the Northern Illinois Huskies. Eastern head coach Chris Creighton discusses the tough match-up they will see against the Broncos
