We're hearty Michiganders! We better be for Saturday's Bonteboktoberfest, or Brew at the Zoo, at Binder Park Zoo. The event is Saturday evening from 6-10pm.

The hook is walking around the zoo, while enjoying some fine beers from around the state. And at the risk of sounding like a Bud Light commercial, non-beer options include mead (and cider and wine).

Firekeepers Casino Hotel will be doing food and beer pairings, while some of the area's favorite food trucks will be bringing their unique specialties; look for Gorilla Gourmet, Latitude 42 and Freddy’s Food Hut.

Abbey Rose & Co., Olivia Mainville & the Aquatic Troupe, and Andrew Leahey & the Homestead are the music for the evening. And one of the newest attractions at the zoo, Oolong, the baby red panda cub is currently on exhibit at the nursery. and the zoo says there's an opportunity to see a carcass feeding at the Mexican Wolf exhibit.
