Suspect Caught in Kalamazoo Robberies

A man suspected in a pair of armed robberies in the Kalamazoo area yesterday was caught.  A convenience store on Stadium Drive was robbed at gunpoint at around 6pm.  A few hours later, a man matching the description of the robber at the convenience store held up a McDonalds on South Westnedge

A Tennessee truck driver arrested in a sexual assault cold case in Kalamazoo, has also been linked to sexual assaults in three other states.

Football Coach Collapses in School Prompting Lock-Down

A coach at a Kalamazoo school collapsed and died yesterday, briefly causing the school to be put on lock-down.  It happened at the Maple Street Magnet School for the Arts.  Head Football Coach Darryl Bradford collapsed in the hallway and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced ‘dead’

A man is in jail after Deputies say he threatened to shoot his roommate this morning.  The Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Briarcliff Path at around 1am.  The victim said his roommate was drunk and had attacked him after firing a gun and threatened to shoot him

Westbound I-94 Closed Due to Crash

Authorities say westbound I-94 has been closed in Calhoun County due to a crash.  Police on the scene of the wreck say it will be necessary to close the highway for an extended period.  The westbound lanes of I-94 are closed at I-69 and emergency dispatchers say drivers should get off there or earlier if at all possible as long backups are expected
