4 Dead, 16 Injured in Fort Hood Shooting

Four people, including the gunman, were killed and 16 others injured in a shooting at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas Wednesday evening.  Fort Hood officials said the gunman was a soldier who had been receiving mental health treatment and that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

WMU Student Found Dead in Dorm

Administrators at WMU say one of their students was found dead in a dorm room this morning.  The female freshman was found unresponsive at around 2am and emergency workers were unable to revive her.  The student’s body has been sent to Lansing for an autopsy to discover a cause of death

Police had to go to Loy Norrix High School Thursday morning to break up a fight.  Six students were fighting and wouldn’t stop, and it was too much for the school liaison officer to handle alone.  Police used pepper spray to break up another large fight in the school back in November

Health officials plan to begin testing at Kalamazoo Central High School next week after a student was found this week to have tuberculosis.  Right now, authorities don’t think it is likely anyone else is infected, but they are planning to test around three hundred students and staff as a precaution
