The Lawson Lunatics should be out in full force and full voice this weekend. The defending NCAA Hockey Champions, Minnesota-Duluth are in Kalamazoo for a weekend NCHC showdown with Western Michigan.

The third ranked Bulldogs are currently in second place in the NCHC with 12 points and the Broncos are 5th with 9, but are on a hot streak.

On this week's Bronco Update radio features, Bronco coach Andy Murray pointed out the Bulldogs have their goaltender and main defensemen back from last year's championship team. He expects tight, low scoring games, and has been telling his team to expect to "grind it out" for 60 minutes or more.

Leading UMD is sophomore defenseman Scott Perunovich, a top draft pick of the St. Louis Blues. He already has 17 points this season.

On the other end of the ice, Bronco goalie Trevor Gorsuch has been making impressive saves, keeping the Bronco in game that last year they were losing.

Also, the Broncos have Wade Allison back after missing October with a foot injury. Allison is a 2nd round draft pick of the Philadelphia Flyers.

Game time is 7:05 both nights at Lawson Ice Arena.
