Former Central Michigan University Pitcher and Homer High School Graduate Josh Collmenter was designated for assignment by the Arizona Diamondbacks.

According to the story at M-Live, Collmenter, who was the opening day starter for the club, was designated for assignment this past weekend.  He has struggled recently following a shoulder injury.

Collmenter, was the second longest tenured player on the Diamondbacks.  This season he has a 4.84 ERA in 15 relief appearances and 22 1/3 innings. He walked 11 and struck out 17.  Overall he was 36-33 with a 3.54 ERA in 200 career games over parts of six seasons since 2011. Of those, 75 have been starts.

The club has 10 days to either trade or release him or place him on waivers.  Let's hope some team takes a chance on him we will see where he ends up next.
