Anyone who is informed understands that free speech has been under attack by the liberals, since Donald Trump was elected President.  It is happening across the country and quite a bit on our college campuses.

I can only assume that many people on the left believe that President Trump is a “terrible” President when it comes to free speech due to the fact that he is the only President that is pointing out how bad our news media is.  He is finally someone in power who is pointing out all of the “fake” news and I would say mostly very skewed news that is being spread by supposedly real news organizations.

Well you would be wrong!

The Daily Caller is reporting about an author and Former ACLU president Nadine Strossen new book titled “HATE: Why We Should Resist It with Free Speech, Not Censorship”.  In that book she wrote that President Obama was a “terrible president” when it comes to free speech.

In fact she is quoted in the article and book stating the following:

I still think a lot of liberals aren’t aware [of] what a terrible president [Obama] was

She is pointing to the absolute fact that former President Obama used the Espionage Act to pursue whistleblowers more times than all previous presidents had combined.

She told the Daily Caller:

There has been so much push-back by liberals against free speech

Ms. Strossen went on to say that she surmised that this might be because liberals often argue that:

high-profile beneficiaries [of free speech] are conservatives [but] that’s certainly no reason to not defend free speech at all.

Free Speech is an essential ingredient to our form or democracy and we need to protect it no matter who is President or who is attacking it.  Without it we will continue our downward spiral into the primordial goo our politics has been going back into.

I remind you of what Martin Luther King Jr. said at a Morehouse College speech in 1947 during one of his great speeches:

If we are not careful, our colleges will produce a group of close-minded, unscientific, illogical propagandists, consumed with immoral acts. Be careful, 'brethren!' Be careful, teachers!
