One of the last Radio Shack store in SW Michigan is closing in a few days. Signage on the store's window has a "Store Closing" banner. The employees inside the store on Gull Road at Sprinkle were not authorized to comment.

Another store in Ann Arbor is closing, too. Merchandise is currently available for about 30-50% off.

Radio Shack has been in financial trouble for years. An investment company tried to combine Sprint store with Radio Shack, but that effort appears to have been not successful.

The company started in 1921, founded by two London natives living in Boston. It served ham radio operators, but eventually expanded to higher ticket items, but was still the place to go when you needed a set of patch cords.
