Governor Rick Snyder, during a visit to Kellogg Community College, announced $2.2 million in funding for KCC’s Regional Manufacturing Technology Center.

The funding, which is a part of the capital outlay bill Snyder signed Wednesday, will be matched by funds from KCC’s capital millage, for a total for $4.3 million.

Snyder said at the announcement “Skilled trades training leads students to success and career stability in a variety of industries”, and that “We are positioning Michigan to be a leader in developing talent”.

The money will be used at the RMTC to renovate the building first built in 1990.  The renovations will allow the college to work closer with local employers, including Denso and Michigan Works!
