I was stunned and worried when I heard parts of former President Obama’s speech at the 2018 Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture the other day.

From his speech transcript published by NPR Barack Obama actually said the following:

You have to believe in facts. (Laughter.) Without facts, there is no basis for cooperation. If I say this is a podium and you say this is an elephant, it's going to be hard for us to cooperate.

He then actually went on to say:

Unfortunately, too much of politics today seems to reject the very concept of objective truth. People just make stuff up. They just make stuff up. We see it in state-sponsored propaganda; we see it in internet driven fabrications, we see it in the blurring of lines between news and entertainment, we see the utter loss of shame among political leaders where they're caught in a lie and they just double down and they lie some more. Politicians have always lied, but it used to be if you caught them lying they'd be like, "Oh man." Now they just keep on lying.

I was stunned by his words due to the fact that the man never relied on facts to get in his way during his Presidency and worried because a man who could think and say something like this, after 8 years of lies, actually was President of the United States.

Does he not remember his main architect of Obamacare Massachusetts Institute of Technology Professor Jonathan Gruber when Gruber said and was quoted in the Hill.com:

Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage…And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.

Does he not remember saying:

  • If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor
  • I will sign a universal health care bill into law by the end of my first term as president that will cover every American and cut the cost of a typical family's premium by up to $2,500 a year.
  • The Iran nuclear deal
  • The Benghazi YouTube video
  • IRS tea party targeting by him, his administration and Lois Lerner

I could go on but I will stop here because I do not want to embarrass Obama any more than I have to by pointing out some of his hypocrisy and lies.

Most politicians will not tell the truth and only will look at facts that people and groups paid by them will provide, “global warming” is a good example.  My concern is when a politician who rarely relied on facts actually will then go out and castigate other politicians for doing what they did so effectively.

To think that a man with what appears to be have such deep psychological problems was actually our President and had his finger on the nuclear button.

God save this country.
