The United State Department of Transportation has awarded the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport a $4.65 Million dollar grant that will be used to fix up and repair the airport's runways and infrastructure. This money comes, in addition to a previous $2.4 million dollar grant last year, from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Rep. Fred Upton made the announcement today, saying.

"As one who has traveled through the Kalamazoo airport countless times – it really does serve as a springboard for critical investments in local jobs and economic growth. This project is just one of the many needed infrastructure improvements for our area and we must continue working together to ensure our roads, bridges, water infrastructure, and airfields are meeting the needs of today.”
