Have room in your house to foster a cat or a kitten?  The Kalamazoo SPCA has had to take on 20 cats and kittens that struggling families have been forced to give up for a period of time.  The average foster time varies according to the individual situation, but most don't exceed 30 days.

According to an Mlive article, Katie Timber, Executive Director of the SPCA of Southwest Michigan says, "We are a family organization that views pets as part of the family and we are committed to helping families retain their pets during times of need. However, we at times are inundated. The more foster homes we have, the more animals we can rescue. We eat 100 percent of the cost on these intakes."

Anyone interested in helping should contact fosters@spcaswmich.org or call the SPCA  at 269-344-1474.
