In the original release issued Tuesday the Kalamazoo County Health Dept. said, "Results of samples taken on Monday, July 6, 2015 from the bathing beach area at Campbell Lake located on East H Avenue, east of North 30th Street in Comstock Charter Township, revealed the surface water quality at the beach area failed to meet Michigan’s Water Quality Standards for total body contact recreation.

"Based upon these sample results, the Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department is advising the public to avoid total body contact with the surface water in the bathing beach area on Campbell Lake at Robert Morris Park. In addition, signs have been posted at the site to inform the public to avoid contact with the surface water at this location. The Kalamazoo County Health and Community Services Department will collect samples on Tuesday, July 7, 2015, with results made available by 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2015. When surface water quality meets the above-mentioned Water Quality Standards the public health advisory will be lifted and signs can be removed."
