Authorities in Kalamazoo have seized several weapons during traffic stops over the past week.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety says that the first of three investigations began last Friday evening, where a vehicle was contacted and searched in the area of Fox Ridge Dr; inside, a handgun, ammunition and drugs were all found. A 30-year-old Grand Rapids woman was arrested on a warrant, and a 32-year-old Rockford man was arrested on several weapons charges.

The second incident was Sunday evening, where a traffic stop in the 700 block of North Westnedge led to a firearm being found on the driver; a search of the vehicle turned up several loaded magazines and some cocaine. The 23-year-old driver from Kalamazoo was arrested.

The third investigation began Wednesday evening, following another traffic stop in the same area of Fox Ridge as the first traffic stop; an occupant of that vehicle was found to have a loaded handgun in his bag, and he was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. That 33-year-old from Paw Paw was arrested.

Anyone who has information about criminal activity like this is asked to contact the KDPS.
