The Chicago White Sox have announced that they will retire long time White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle  this summer.

According to Chicago Tribune, Buehrle's number 56 will be retired Saturday, June 24th before the game against the Oakland A's.

Buehrle spent most of his career with the White Sox  He was a major part of the 2005 World Series Championship.  He also pitched a no hitter in 2007 and a perfect game in 2009.

In recent years he moved on to the Miami Marlins and the Toronto Blue Jays.

I will always remember him for his great play he made against Cleveland where he flipped it behind his back.

Another member of the 2005 team to have his number retired.  He joins Paul Konerko and Frank Thomas among the recent White Sox players to have their number retired.
