Summer vacation trips to Mackinac Island can be a right of passage in some Michigan families. The big question for dog owners, can you bring your pet?
No one likes to leave their fur babies at home alone while they vacation. Most dogs enjoy the travel and exploring new places just as much as we do. Weather it's Mackinac Island, Sleeping Bear Dunes or Downtown Kalamazoo. So, where can you go that will be happy to let you bring an extra four legs?
Manistee campgrounds and the lake Michigan shore line are pet friendly as long as you have a leash.
This is an outdoor shop[ping mall that welcomes dogs with stations designed for them to drink and grab a quick snack as well as dog sculptures.
Fun for the whole family. The site even says "Well-behaved pets on leashes are welcome."
Dogs are welcome on the ferry to and from the island and even on horse and buggy rides. Getting them on a bicycle is your problem.
Located in Traverse City, is a great pet stop while enjoying the Cherry Festival.
