Did you know the Census Bureau includes both legal and illegal people in their count every ten years?

I did not.

Did you know our government uses those numbers to apportion the United States congressional districts?

That I knew.

Did you know that a new “sanctuary cities” map from the Center for Immigration Studies shows us that the greatest concentration of illegals are in open-borders/amnesty Democrat cities and strongholds?

Interesting.

As being reported by The National Journal “when you consider the political makeup of the cities, counties, and states where illegal aliens are welcomed, you start to suspect that the liberal elite in San Francisco and elsewhere aren’t interested only in cheap nannies and gardeners. For them, pulling in more illegal aliens is, perhaps first and foremost, about pumping up their political power.”

Now we know a pretty good reason why Democrats want open borders and amnesty for all.

You see, more people counted in these Democrat strongholds mean inflated population which leads to a larger number of representatives in Congress and more electoral votes in those states.

According to the article the illegal-aliens gave states like New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Illinois eight additional congressional seats in the last reappointment.  Those states all went for President Obama in the last election.

The Center for Immigration Studies estimated that almost half of America’s 41 million reported immigrants have settled in just five metropolitan areas: New York City–Newark, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and San Francisco–Oakland.

Also according data from the Center for Immigration Studies, all of the above mentioned cities and their surrounding counties have sanctuary policies.

So the question is, does the Democratic party push for open borders and amnesty out of the kindness of their heart for troubled people, or more Democrat congresspeople for their party?
