I don't know why, but I've always felt like the Motown Museum is our museum. Motown music is known world-wide. And it really started here. And now the Motown Museum is set to become a lot bigger.

Rock and Roll didn't just magically appear from Cleveland. The city lobbied for the museum, and Detroit was a candidate for that Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with several other cities. But the Motown Museum is where its special kind of musical magic actually happened; living, breathing musical geniuses actually worked there, not that many years ago.

Today, the Motown Museum announced a $50 million expansion project that will expand it size by 50,000 square feet. Not many details were revealed in the press release about fund raising efforts, but what is known a performance venue will be added, along with new recording facilities and meeting rooms.
