No Surprise; Red Wings’ New Home Will Be Little Caesars Arena

The Detroit Red Wings' new home in 2017-18 will be named "Little Caesar's Arena". Team owner Mike Illitch founded the Little Caesars chain in 1959 with his wife Marian.

The $627 million dollar arena is currently under construction in downtown Detroit. The Red Wings will play one final season at Joe Louis Arena, beginning in October. Last year, Meijer and Saint Joseph Mercy Health System were named as major sponsors of the Red Wings’ new home, but the naming rights belong to Little Caesa's. No surprise.
