Michigan wins award for world’s best new license plate

LANSING, Mich. - The Automobile License Plate Collectors Association (ALPCA, Inc.) has overwhelmingly voted Michigan’s Mackinac Bridge license plate as the world’s best new plate. First issued last August, the beautiful plate features the bridge against a sunrise sky and gives residents the opportunity to celebrate one of the Great Lakes State’s greatest assets, an engineering marvel that connects the upper and lower peninsulas.

Now when I mentioned this on the Bensonshow, a listener called me quickly and said she thought it was the ugliest plate she'd ever seen. It looked like (gasp) New Mexico's.I don't think it's ugly, but as the cliche goes, it's in the eye of the beholder.
