Police Searching for Standoff Suspect

Police in Kalamazoo are searching for a man after a stand-off Monday afternoon that ended when it was discovered that the suspect had escaped. Kalamazoo Public Safety officers were called to a home at Westnedge and Ada at around 1pm. The victim managed to escape the home after calling police and saying that her ex-boyfriend had broke in and threatened her. Authorities were outside for an hour, attempting to negotiate with the man. However, when the SWAT team entered the home, they found that the man had fled the scene.
