The co-owner of Battle Creek Tile and Mosaic in Urbandale was shot and killed Friday morning at his store on West Michigan Avenue.  63 year old Frank “Frankie” Zanetti was shot once in the head in the back of the store, with several witnesses nearby.   On Friday night, police said that Brian Zanetti is a person of interest in the incident. He is 47 years old, 5'5" and 170 pounds. He is a local resident and may be driving a dark gray Hyundai Accent, with license number DMZ6566.  Police have not determined Brian Zanetti's exact relation to Frank Zanetti, but would like to speak to him.

Detective Sgt. Troy Gilleylen addressed the media on Friday afternoon. Gilleylen described the shooter as a short white man in his 30’s, about 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, wearing jeans and a teal hoodie and cap with an emblem.  He covered his face with a bandana. He said it appears to be an isolated incident with no wider danger to the community.

The family-owned business was started in 1958 by the victim’s father, Santo Zanetti.   Zanetti’s brother John and daughter both work at the business.

If anyone in the community sees someone matching the suspect’s description, please do not approach him, and call 911.
