It appears that there is a rash of people stealing packages from people’s porches.  Well a former NASA engineer was tired of people stealing his packages so he set a trap.

CNN is reporting that this man, who worked on the Mars Curiosity rover, created a package that contained a pound of fine glitter as well as some potent fart spray. He created this package that when triggered sprayed glitter five times, every 30 seconds.

The package also included four phones that recorded the thieves' reaction and contained a GPS tracker in the phones which allowed him to know where the package ultimately ended up.  The phone automatically uploaded the recording to the cloud.

The creator Mark Rober was quoted in the article saying:

Something needs to be done to take a stance against dishonest punks like this…If anyone was going to make a revenge bait package and over-engineer the crap out of it, it was going to be me

Apparently he made several of these packages and some of the thieves opened the packages in their cars spraying glitter everywhere. Other thieves opened the packages in their house.

Now that is some creative thinking and many of us believe the thieves got exactly what they had coming.

Great job Mark!
