Now I always look for good news when it comes to Michigan or places in Michigan but this one is hard to understand.

Not that I do not want it to be true but it is a bit hard to, well let’s just say fully understand.

According to the travel media company Lonely Planet just called Detroit the "American comeback city". Detroit ranked as second in the top cities in the world to travel to in their latest survey.

In fact they said the following about Detroit:

It's like the whole place is caffeine-buzzed, freewheeling in ideas, young creative types jump-started the scene when they began transforming the crazy-huge slew of abandoned buildings into distilleries, bike shops and galleries.

The "Best in Travel 2018" destinations were announced Oct. 24, and yes Detroit ranked second in the "Top 10 Cities" list, behind Seville, Spain.

Do you believe it?

The only other American city included on the list was San Juan, Puerto Rico, which came in 8th place. I assume that was before the devastating hurricane.

The rankings were as follows:

• Seville, Spain
• Detroit, USA
• Canberra, Australia
• Hamburg, Germany
• Kaohsiung, Taiwan
• Antwerp, Belgium
• Matera, Italy
• San Juan, Puerto Rico
• Guanajuato, Mexico
• Oslo, Norway

All I can say is great for Detroit I hope a lot of good will come of it.
