Well we are only one day away from possibly hearing officially from the accuser of Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh.  Ms. Christine Blasey-Ford has stated through her team of attorneys that she will testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee about her accusation of sexual assault by Judge Kavanaugh when they were both back in high school some 36 years ago.

As I predicated last Friday, I still believe she will not testify but I could be proven wrong tomorrow.

The 11 Republican male senators have chosen to hire outside counsel to interview and ask the questions of both Judge Kavanaugh and Ms. Ford.  The Democrats are up in arms about it even though they first stated that 11 “old” men should not be asking the questions and now that the Republicans agreed to that and hired a women they are now upset about that.

The outside counsel they have chosen to interview Judge Kavanaugh and Ms. Ford is Arizona prosecutor Rachel Mitchell, the sex crimes bureau chief for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office in Phoenix.  Ms. Mitchell is a registered Republican, Ms. Mitchell has worked for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office for 26 years.

The Republicans decided to hire a women who specializes in sex crimes because they expect the questioning to be personal and potentially painful about the woman's youth on live television.  They also believe they would be sparing the all-male panel of 11 Republican senators on the committee some uncomfortable exchanges that could sway the public's opinion about the session.

Take the political aspects of the questioning by 11 males out of the equation and I think that many of us would come to the conclusion that what the Republicans are doing is probably a good thing.  The goal of this hearing is to attempt to get at the truth of what actually happened or did not happen and not for these senators to grandstand as they usually do during these hearings.

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, said in a statement:

The majority members have followed the bipartisan recommendation to hire as staff counsel for the committee an experienced career sex-crimes prosecutor to question the witnesses at Thursday's hearing…The goal is to de-politicize the process and get to the truth, instead of grandstanding and giving senators an opportunity to launch their presidential campaigns.

In the end what we citizens of the United States should want and demand is what really occurred or did not occur.  Since the accuser does not appear to remember much of the details of that night, such as when, where and who was present at this party I believe it will probably come down to a he said she said.  If that happens then without any proof that it actually happened who will believe who and what should happen with these allegations.  In fact when Ms. Ford first told someone of what happened to her was in 2012 when she stated that 4 boys where present and did not identify Judge Kavanaugh as being one of them.  She has since recanted that statement that 4 boys where there and now states that only 2 were present.

I ask you to put yourselves in the shoes of Judge Kavanaugh and ask yourself should you be judged on allegations alone.
