Michigan Governor Rick Snyder has made three appointments to the Western Michigan University Board of Trustees.

Snyder re-appointed Lynn Chen-Zhang of Portage. She is the Chief Operating Officer of Zheng Financial in Portage. New appointees are David Behen of Saline,  who is vice president and chief information officer of LA-Z-BOY and Shelly Edgerton of Plainwell, she is the director and chief data systems officer for the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs.

"Trustees Behen and Edgerton are joining the board at an energizing time in the life of WMU," said WMU president Edward B. Montgomery. "I am so pleased that we will continue to benefit from Trustee Chen-Zhang's expertise and passion for this great university. I look forward to a strong partnership with these strong leaders as we work together to establish WMU as Michigan's destination for bright students who want to thrive in a changing world." - WMU release.

Behen's appointment is to fill William Pickard's seat, while Edgerton will replace outgoing trustee Kenneth Miller.

All three trustee appointments must be approved by the Michigan State Senate.
