Downtown Allegan announces plans for its annual New Year's Eve ball drop, the largest in the state of Michigan.

With states like New York and California officially recognizing the Lunar New Year as a holiday, could Michigan soon follow suit?

As part of the celebrations to ring in 2023, the City of South Haven Michigan plans to drop 1,000 beach balls from the city center on December 31, 2022.

Here are several New Year's Eve events happening in or near Kalamazoo this year

Chances are you're not going out to celebrate 2021. There are one or two events planned but for the most part, with indoor dining shutdown, and just with people being careful, this is the perfect year to find a great movie and cuddle up, or if you have kids, to get everyone in their pajamas, pop some pop corn, and watch and laugh until the little ones conk out.

Well we can't out weird those two states but we can out-cool them with the list of things we've been known to drop. Some of the events are put on hold or are changed this year to accommodate for social distancing, but I'm hopeful we'll be gathered next New year's Eve in 2021 to have some fun
