The Democrat Governor of Virginia Terry McAuliffe and his Attorney General believe that guns in the hands of citizens are dangerous, so Virginia’s General Assembly is saying fine then let’s take your guns away.

It is being reported by The Daily Caller that Governor McAuliffe and his Attorney General are a pushing gun control law which will not all concealed-carry rights in their state for residents of 25 other states who have granted their citizens concealed-carry weapon permits.

I guess they are doing this because obviously this will keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and people who intend to do harm to others, right?

Attorney General Herring is quoted in the article stating:

“Our General Assembly has already identified who can and cannot conceal handguns in Virginia, and we cannot have that decision undermined by recognizing permits from other states with more permissive standards.”

Virginia Republican Sen. Bill Carrico told The Herald Courier he plans to propose a budget amendment during the State Senate’s January Session that would defund the governor’s protective detail.

In fact he was quoted in the article as saying:

“I have a budget amendment that I’m looking at to take away his executive protection unit. If he’s so afraid of guns, then I’m not going to surround him with armed state policemen.”

I believe this is an excellent idea.  If these politicians want to further restrict the rights of law abiding citizens, who pay the taxes that pay these politicians and their protective details, then why should these same tax paying citizens have to pay for people with guns to protect these same politicians?

What are your thoughts?

The State of Virginia is slated to stop recognizing the 25 out-of-state concealed carry permits on February 1.

Virginia’s Governor McAuliffe has already vetoed a number of pro-gun bills this year and issued an executive order prohibiting people with concealed carry permit’s to carry their firearms in executive offices buildings all over the state.

So why should his protective detail need to carry them?  With his executive order in place people who intend to do harm will not be able to carry guns legally in the executive buildings.

We all know that a law or executive order will obviously stop people and criminals from obtaining or carry weapons, at least this is what they want us to believe.

If any of these laws and executive orders were to actually work to stop gun violence I would say let’s talk, but none of them will work and that is why the majority of informed and intelligent people are against them.

By the way they will still accept concealed-carry permit holders from West Virginia, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah
