The Kalamazoo Civic Theatre's 2017 holiday show is Disney's The Little Mermaid. I'll wait while the kids calm down...

*sigh*

*looks at watch*

Done? Great. My turn.

Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god they're doing The Little Mermaid, and it opens exactly 28 years - to the day - after the feature film release! Not that I would know anything about that... The Civic has pulled out all the stops to bring this magical musical to the stage. Featuring the songs you know and love (Part of Your World, Kiss the Girl, Under the Sea), this could go down as a favorite holiday memory for the whole family.

Sea-dwelling Ariel feels lost in her world, and dreams of one day living on land. After saving a human prince from a shipwreck she is more determined than ever to be human. She makes a deal with the sea witch, Ursula (totally played by Lori Moore, because OF COURSE), to become just that... for a price. Will she find her prince? Will they fall in love? Will you walk out of the theatre with a heart full of unbridled joy? Spoiler alert. YES.

Treat the whole family to The Little Mermaid, and make the Civic's holiday show an annual tradition. Dates: November 17th through December 8th. Evening and matinee performances Tickets range from $15 - $25 and can be ordered through the Civic Box Office at 269-343-1313 or online.
