The Tigers took the first of four in Kansas City with a 10-2 win.  Detroit knocked KC starter Jason Vargas out of the game early.  A bases loaded walk gave the Tigers the early lead, and then Nick Castellanos gave the Tigers a 4-0 lead with a home run.  Mikie Mahtook hit a long home run to center and it was 6-0.  Ian Kinsler had two triples and a double in the first three innings.  Jordan Zimmermann threw just 97 pitches—79 for strikes, over 6 2/3 innings to earn his 6th win.  The Indians beat the Giants, so the Tigers stay six games off the pace in the division.  Matt Boyd, back up from Toledo, gets the start in game two tonight in Kansas City.   Hear it at 7:50, on 95.3 WBCK.
