The Detroit Tigers had something this afternoon that has not happened often this season - depending on the bullpen to hold a lead.

After Jordan Zimmerman (4-2) tossed six innings and allowing four runs, three relievers held the Baltimore Orioles to one hit in the final three innings to give them a 6-5 victory. The win is the second straight for the Tigers.

J.D. Martinez and Victor Martinez launched homers on the afternoon, combining for five of the six runs. Alex Avila had two hits and drove in a run, part of an eight-hit attack.

Alex Wilson earned the save for the Tigers filling in for Justin Wilson in the closer role. It is his second save on the season.

The Tigers will now welcome the Texas Rangers for a three-game series beginning Friday. The Rangers are the hottest team in Major League Baseball, winning nine straight. Daniel Norris (2-2, 4.34 ERA) will look to cool off the Rangers, taking the mound for the Tigers. Nick Martinez (0-2, 5.04 ERA) has the call for Texas. Join us for the opener Friday night at 6:45pm on 95.3 WBCK!
