5 Ivan Rodriguez Highlights During His Time With The Tigers

Congratulations to Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez who was named to the Class of 2017 for the Baseball Hall of Fame.  He spent most of his career with the Texas Rangers but also helped restore the roar in Motown.

Pudge was in Detroit from 2004 until he was traded mid season in 2008 to the New York Yankees.   He not only helped the team rebuild but also was one of the players to help the team to the World Series in 2006.  Here are five memorable moments from Pudge during his time as a Detroit Tiger.

His Free Agent Signing in 2004

The Tigers were coming off one of the worst seasons in baseball history.   What better way to restore the roar then to get the National League Championship Series MVP.

Finishes Second in The Home Run Derby In Detroit in 2005

The home town hero put up a fight but ended up finishing second to Bobby Abreu.

Hits A Walk Off Home Run Against The Indians

It was 2006 just one of the many great moments for the team that year.  Unfortunately the season ending with the World Series loss.

Catches Justin Verlander's First No Hitter in 2007

Pudge was behind the plate for JV's first no hitter against the Milwaukee Brewers on June 12th of 2007.

Goes 4-4 with 2 RBI's Against Baltimore in 2008

A great night at the plate just before he was traded at the trade deadline to the Yankees.

One of the best catchers in the history of the game a much deserved honor.  He joins Jeff Bagwell and Tim Raines in the Hall of Fame as the Class of 2017.   The ceremony for this years class will be inducted in Cooperstown, New York  July 30th.
