One of the main reasons I love Kalamazoo so much is that there so many affordable things to do around the area. The community really does come together to help one another, and now another attraction has made experiencing planes extremely cheap. The Smithsonian-affiliated Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum joined a national access program, Museums for All, to encourage people of all backgrounds to visit museums regularly, according to a news release made on Monday, Nov. 18.

Now, low-income families will have access to the Portage Air Zoo for only $2 per person. It allows for those who receive food assistance to bring up to 6 family members in for the discounted price, with the presentation of their EBT card.

The Air Zoo is located at 6151 Portage Road in Portage, near the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport. The museum is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday and Noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
