Let me start off by saying the deer is okay.

Last night while scrolling through Tiktok I came across a video showing a deer majestically prancing down what looks like a river. Since I'm still new(ish) to Michigan, I wasn't immediately aware that the river in the video led to a steep waterfall.

Cue my instant panic for this deer.

With the hashtag of Tahquamenon I'm going to assume that this was filmed at Tahquamenon State Park in the U.P. You can hear the concern from those witnessing this scene that seemed to be on a collision course for disaster. Sure enough, the deer stops at the edge of the waterfall. Unfortunately, the current was too strong and the deer went over the falls. Take a look below:

In the video, which now has over 3 million views, you can hear a man say something along the lines of "that's nature!" Thankfully, the children who were present didn't have to learn the harsh lesson of 'nature' that day. The deer survived. You can see its little head pop up in the turbulent water as it swims away.

With the revelation that the deer was okay, people in the comment section felt comfortable adding a little humor to the situation:

Above&Brion wrote: He does that every day for the tourists and then goes and laughs with his friends. #deerpranks

Lolo said: Hi. I'm Johnny Knoxville. Welcome to Jackass

Aunt Panda commented: It's cool. Michigan deer are heart af. He probably got hit by a car later that day and laughed, hopped off saying something about insurance rates

And, of course, there were plenty of jokes using lyrics from TLC's Waterfalls. The deer should have listened.
