Aretha Franklin was the "Queen of Soul". Now she's also a "Pulitzer Prize" winner.

Even though she's been gone for months, the honors continue to be heaped upon the late Aretha Franklin. The latest, a "special citation" Pulitzer Prize "for her indelible contribution to American music and culture for more than five decades," according to a release,, quoted by CNN. . It's first awarded to a woman, and the first awarded to anyone in almost ten years. Past winner of the special citation include Bob Dylan and Hank Williams.

Franklin's career accomplishments saw her voted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She died of pancreatic cancer in August of 2018.
