A Battle Creek man who entered a plea for sexually assaulting a young girl has now been sentenced to prison.

33-year-old Caleb Buck was arrested in December, after a Child Protective Services complaint led to a police investigation; a 6-year-old girl, the child of a family friend, said that Buck sexually assaulted her multiple times and took pictures of the act. Buck denied the allegations until police found pictures of the assaults and other child porn on his computers, at which point he said the girl had initiated the acts and taken the photos herself.

The Battle Creek Enquirer says that Buck entered a no-contest plea to two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct in June, and on Monday he was sentenced to between 15 and 50 years in prison.

At the sentencing hearing in Calhoun County Court, Judge John Hallacy let his own feelings be known, calling him a “sick individual” and saying that “you are the kind of person we are all frightened of for our kids”.
