Wes Craven, Iconic Horror Filmmaker, Dead at 76
As with most unfortunate news, this one comes to us abruptly with no warning. The great Wes Craven, the legendary horror filmmaker who brought us films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, has died at 76. Craven had been battling brain cancer and passed away in his home in Los Angeles.

In what may surely turn out to be horrifically tragic news, acclaimed composer James Horner’s plane has crashed in Santa Barbara resulting in the death of the pilot, whose identity has yet to be confirmed. The plan is registered in Horner’s name, and the composer has yet to be accounted for, although reports are trickling in online that Horner was the pilot of the plane.
Netflix Is Testing Advertisements, But It’s Not as Bad as You Might Think
One of chief glories of Netflix is the ability to pay $7.99 a month for unlimited access to the Netflix Instant catalogue without the hassle of ads — unlike Hulu, which still makes its subscribers sit through ads even though they pay a monthly fee. Edward Herrmann, Star of ‘Gilmore Girls’ and ‘The Lost Boys,’ Passes Away at 71
We’re saddened to report that Edward Herrmann, best known for roles in ‘Gilmore Girls’ and horror classic ‘The Lost Boys,’ has passed away this morning at the age of 71. Herrmann’s career spanned over 40 years, from his role in 1973's ‘The Paper Chase,’ to more recently starring in the ‘Town That Dreaded Sundown’ remake. On the last day of 2014, we’ve lost yet another great actor.
