For quite a while now the B-Line Service and Car Sales shop that sits at 4305 Portage St. in Kalamazoo has been up for sale, and it seems as though a transaction has taken place. The shop, which is located next to Rocket Comics next to the plaza that hosts One Well Brewery, was listed online announcing that the owner, Pete, plans to retire:

Sale includes the FF&E and Real Estate (Seller reserves personal tools). Shop comes complete with five lifts and one flat-bay. The building itself is nearly 60 years old and as of now there's no word who plans on moving in or who purchased the building. There do seem to be a lot of new auto type plans for Kalamazoo however. The largest project currently happening is the new $10,000,000 car wash that is being built on Gull Rd. just west of the corner of Sprinkle Rd. No official announcement has been made on when they plan on opening but people are thinking it will be ready by later in 2021. Drive & Shine broke ground at 4201 W Main on June 25 of 2019, and washed 5,000 cars on their first weekend open in late November.

We'll keep our eyes out when we find out what the new business will be.
