Child Found Dead Inside Calhoun County Home Following Fire
Investigators are still looking into the cause of a fire in Calhoun County that left a child dead.
The fire was reported early Sunday morning at a manufactured home located in the 200 block of South Marshall Street in Burlington. Several departments responded to the scene, including firefighters from Burlington, Tekonsha and Union City.
Once they were able to get inside, the 7-year-old child was was found and was said to be already deceased, according to the Michigan State Police. The Battle Creek Enquirer says the boy's sister and parents were seriously injured and taken to a Kalamazoo hospital for treatment.
Investigators are still working to determine the cause. A Michigan State Police Fire Investigator has been assigned to the scene for further investigations into what happened.
